Can Vitamin C Cause Cancer?
It has been shown that if vitamin C is added to a solution of a specific fatty acid that is short-lived in the body, it can form a compound that mutates DNA, which can result in characteristics of cancer.
These were the headlines after an article appeared in the June 15, 2001 issue of the prestigious journal Science. It is however important to note that since this was not a living system, therefore none of the physiologic checks and balances were in place.
